The first great 16-bit RPG

You know how I keep comparing these old games to FF12? FF2 is like FF12 because its story is a direct rip from Star Wars. FF3 is like FF12 because your characters have no personality and it is no fun to play. FF4 is the exact opposite of FF12. This game is a kick in the ass. We've got ATB now, and the battles are frantic and fast-paced. The overworld is so small you can fly across it in about five seconds in your zippy little airship. This is a game that is very similar to FF3 in graphical style, menu setup, and certain other details, but it also bucks a lot of the trends of its predecessor, as well as establishing new trends of its own. An emo hero with a crisis of conscience, dressed all in black and wielding a badass sword? No way!
That is the graphical equivalent of a "...". It's history in the making, you guys!!

Not that this game doesn't have SOME disappointments, however...
