Can two nerds do it? Take the most epic journey across the Final Fantasy Universe ever? Can they avoid being knocked down in I, find the first Chocobos in II, play the long, lost forgotten cousin III, cleanse their soul in IV, save the crystals in V, blabber on and on about how great VI is, and then go beyond, into the world of 3D, emo, and fantastically absurd hair? Read, and find out!

That's not a blog post! That's a starship!

So, when we left off, we'd just found a faaaabulous new ally for our fight against the evil oppressive empire.  FF6 takes the whole 'I'm stealing from Star Wars' idea, but does it better than future games, which shall remain nameless.   Namely, FF12.

But, let's think about this for a moment.   You've got a plucky young band of rebels, fighting against the awful, oppressive Empire.   An empire who, will for no reason other than it's fun, slaughter millions of innocent people.    You've got a devil-may-care thie....treasure hunter who will do anything for the love of a good woman.    You're battling the forces of technology with an ancient magic power.   And, in the end, it's all a story about love and truth, justice and honor, kitten and puppies*.

*note -- story may not actually be about kittens and puppies.

Sadly, this will not be the first time Celes says this to Locke. Just read any FF6 fanfic.

But, let's move on.  The game isn't all 'The Force' this, and 'Death Star' that.  There's more to the story.   You're definitely not going to find THIS in Darth Vader's repetoir.

I'm serious.   I don't know HOW this game made it past the censors.   Clearly they thought America must be ready for the deluge of Anime that the country was going to unleash onto us.   I mean, honestly.   If you're giving me an opening to make a tentacle rape joke, without even really trying, you perhaps need to reconsider the audience you're trying to deliver to.

That's not what he said last night!
