Can they avoid being knocked down in I, find the first Chocobos in II, play the long, lost forgotten cousin III, cleanse their soul in IV, save the crystals in V, blabber on and on about how great VI is, and then go beyond, into the world of 3D, emo, and fantastically absurd hair? The greatest (worst?) game ever! Starts!

...er, wait, no. Something's not right.

And it starts. Words can NOT describe how (not?) excited I am.

I just found the blog yesterday, so I wanted to go back to 5 for a minute. What were the differences in gameplay in ff5a compared to ff5j? Was exp, ap, etc. handed out in different quantities and were your abilities roided out like in Dawn of Souls?

PS, not too much of an impediment but maybe no stray cat for Gau and only painting for Relm and mimic for Gogo?

Definitely not the stray cat that makes Gau cool - Magic Jar/Pot ftw!

No use of the invisibility spell should be allowed.

A no Esper run would be interesting....

That would be easily done. Simply use the river raft auto-fire method to level to 99 and then stomp through the game without casting any spells.

A no esper run without the river raft method was implied, I think.

neocid is correct. I intended for the run to be completed in a natural way.

It would still be an easy run...the leveling portion would just take (a lot) longer. Magic is by no means needed to beat the game (other than completing the optional Magic Tower in the WoR).

I dont really get your point. If it was an impossible thing to do I wouldnt have suggested it. I didnt say a no-esper run would be hard. I said it would be interesting. The reason why this game is so good is because there are various ways to beat it.

Also keep in mind, I said it was a no-Esper run, not a no-magic run. There are other ways to use magic and No - it is not necessary to be level 99 to beat it this way.

They asked for suggestions, and I gave one. If you have a better idea, please bring it up.

I wonder if an all imp run would work...

That sounds cool but it would be a while before they would be able to get imp'd.

But once that happened I think it would be doable once they got to the WOR and got a hold of some imp gear.....
