I noticed today that the Blogging Zelda page, which had momentarily gone "AFK", is now completely gone.
I'd like to take a moment of silence for our fallen comrade, and swear to redouble our efforts in our epic quest.

FF6, to me, takes what was great about all the prior Final Fantasies and makes them greater. Let's start with our first character.
This is Terra. She's a hot piece of green-haired tail. Note that she's sleeping in some old guy's bed. AND SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHO HE IS!
Skankho.
Despite the fact that she's easier than FF4, this is actually an important point. The story driven elements of FF4 come back to FF6. Most of the game is actually the epic story of Terra [thought it could be argued that it's actually the epic story of Celes, Sabin, and Edgar] (kind of how the story is about Kain in FF4 and Aeris in FF7).
I've been playing for three minutes and we've got two potential partners. That's what makes this the best (worst) game of the series.
Well, two reasons. One? Real life? Very busy.
Number two is that this is a huge deal. There are really three generations of RPG players, in my mind. The first are those of us who, with our Nintendo power, learned of the love of Dragon Warrior 1 (see Blogging DQ) and started our journey there, and declare Dragon Warrior IV to be one of the finest games ever created.
Then there's the next generation, like Kamarile, who fell in love with FF6 and declare it to be the finest game ever (and it might very well be).
There's a darker, third generation, who started on FFVII, with an image sullied by many 'l33t' kiddies posting on message boards saying that FF6 and DW4 can't be good games becuz teh pixtorz rn't gud.
So, yeah. FF6 is huge. It's gigantic. It's epic. It must be done justice.
As for the gameplay suggestions? I could certainly go for a No Esper game, so I think I might just do that...
...er, wait, no. Something's not right.

And it starts. Words can NOT describe how (not?) excited I am.
